Copper with Red Circles #1

Getting studio time recently. Made a few of these copper plant-like mobiles over the last couple of weeks. This one is about 3 feet by 4 feet or so.

The copper is from the tub from an old washing machine. Did not know they were ever made of  copper. There may be 8-10 mobiles and more coming from that!

I will post them all eventually! The quality of my posting should improve with blogging 101 lessons being tested.

Also just got back from Word Camp Lancaster with lots of new ideas and inspiration! The speakers, the location, the food, (whoopee pies!), and after party made for a very good day. Thanks WordPress!

  1. Super!

    1. Thank you for checking out my work! Your blog is super too! Your about me page lists so many interests! That makes you very interesting as well! I’ll be reading. 🙂

      1. 🙂 Chris, I’m thinking about making a figurative sculpture in concrete. I’m also doing some watercolor. Maybe someday if you like something I do, we could trade for a small mobile. Other artists who come to mind with your work are Calder and Miro.

      2. Sounds good to me! Stay in touch! Calder and Miro are some of my inspirations! One of my mobiles hangs just above a Miro in a private collection and one of my wood hands holds it’s own on a table beside a Calder Stabile. I’m glad you noticed! Thnks! 🙂

      3. That’s fantastic, Chris. Not sure where you live but this sculpture garden is near us. might be of interest. It is the formal garden of Pepsi Co.

      4. Cool! I go near there occasionally. Will check it out. There is a place north of there on the other side of the Hudson called Storm King. A 500 acre sculpture park. It’s just off of I 87 near Newberg NY
