Driftwood Eel

Turtle or Eel? Stick Art Sculpture

People would show up at my friends house and bring sticks and rocks and other possible art material for him to work with.

Not that he couldn’t find his own material for sculptures or things to photograph but just because others wanted to help in the process.

That seemed very cool to me knowing those people would not have made art or sculpture from those objects but they knew someone who probably would.

It turns out that very same thing happens to me occasionally.

This stick was given to me by a friend who found it and knew I would make something with it.

It was longer and not shaped quite like it looks now but, the basic face and twisted body was quite obvious and I knew it would be fun to make something with.

Just a little cutting, shaping and sanding and there you have it.

So thanks Tom for thinking of me and knowing that I would do something to turn this stick into sculpture.

Hope you enjoyed this post. It’s the first one I have done totally mobile using voice activation.

Very cool.

Thanks everyone for visiting and following it means a lot.

  1. It’s a very intriguing piece, one that can serve as a writing prompt. I would write a story about it entitled, “A Fish Like No Other”
