What is it?

Driftwood serpent creature

Serpent? Eel? What is that? Weird. Where’d that come from?

People would show up at my friend/mentor’s house and bring sticks and rocks and other possible art material for him to work with. Not that he couldn’t find his own materials, but because others wanted to help in the process.

This stick was given to me by a friend who found it and knew I would make something with it. It was longer and not shaped quite like it looks now but, the basic face and twisted body was quite obvious and I knew it would be fun to do something with. Just a little cutting, shaping and sanding and there you have it. Whatever it is!

Why not give it a fantasy name?

Never thought of that. It is a new and different creature. What would you call it?

It’s a very intriguing piece, one that can serve as a writing prompt. I would write a story about it entitled, “A Fish Like No Other”
