Found some old images of early artwork.
Flat cuts and minimal shaping are telltale signs of the first years.
Keeping track and remembering is why this blog was begun. So here is a little (about 3 inches tall) example of a twig sculpture made years ago.
Recently some photos (yes, actual photographs) were found. May have to take digital pics of the photos to keep up to date.
Another stick sculpture to get the new year going.
This one looks like it would make a good bracelet holder!
It is not tall enough to hang ties from.
They don’t seem interested in doing much but dancing anyway.
They have done the tree thing.
They have had their leaves and seasons.
Why not just enjoy the dance?
This year’s Christmas ornament is this star mobile.
Last year’s Christmas ornament art project was this dancing Santa mobile. (if you click on the full WordPress article there is a video)
They are painted sheet metal and wire.
About 50 were made.
I think I will have to make more of these Christmas decorations because people are asking to buy them.
That makes me happy!
This angel is another kinetic Christmas gift art piece made from sheet metal and wood and rivets.
It is 5″-6″ tall.
This sheet aluminum and wire mobile ornament was from around the time the kids got my my wife and me into snowboarding.
Our kids have been instructors for years, and they had talked us into it that year so it seemed like a good design.
One of the favorite Christmas gift art ornaments was this mobile in a clear glass ball.
Wire and snowflake charms with a Christmas tree at the bottom make up the mobile part.
Glitter glued to the glass ball with silver ribbon to hang it from and there you have it!
Everyone loved it! But, mailing this object failed a few times.
This Christmas ornament design comes from spiral mobiles I have made.
The mobiles are larger with more pieces than this little ornament.
It is brass sheet metal with brass wire and about 3 inches.
40-50 were made.
Year eight was this mobile ornament made from brass wire and jingle bells.
I made 40-50 of these and one larger piece as well as some earrings using this design.
The middle wire (I call the wires of mobiles armatures) shape has since become an often used design element in my wire sculptures and Christmas gift artwork.

The year of the spinning Christmas tree was when I was balancing metal “s” shapes in to pieces that swing and spin. Some of them stand some of them hang.
The tree is simply three painted metal triangles bent and balanced.
