(Briefly)
Christopher Pollock Art (yep, that’s me) doing work and life with my wife Chrissie, mostly in N.Y., Ct. and Ma. We met in college, married, and began our entrepreneurial years (now decades). Summer job skills like construction, landscaping and child care helped inspire multiple businesses, fixing/flipping/renting houses, and when children started happening, a daycare center.
Our interests and educations worked well with day care. Chrissie studied education and worked as a writer specializing in media literacy for children plus wrote stories. I majored in recreation and had past experience building/maintaining unique places and objects. During arts and crafts time, puppet like mobiles of frogs, lizards and crocodiles amused the children. Friends asked to buy some of them. Fun on the daycare job, while making art for sale was a win/win and led to my first art show.
During those years we raised three sons and pets. All have flown the nest. The last dog went with our youngest. No more pets, plants or much of anything that keeps us from being where we want or need to be (that’s code for visiting children and grandchildren).
It’s mostly art and computers now. The good news is both can travel with us and be done everywhere.
Thanks for visiting my site. 🙂
Chris
Congrats! Just nominated your blog for the Liebster award! For more information go to: https://fancyferretstudios.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/liebster-award/
I have also nominated you for a Liebster award. If you’re interested in playing along with this blog award/participatory meme/community building exercise, check out my post at: https://protopianpicklejar.wordpress.com/2015/04/09/liebster-award/
Thank You! The Liebster award is a good motivator. It leads to discovering some good blogs and inspiration. Doing it again will be rewarding. I did opt to amend the rules as did fancy ferret studios (the blogger that nominated me). We limited the numbers from 11 to 5. That may be the case this time as well since I really suck at this still. I am getting better and like it all it just takes me forever! Even this note will take me ten times longer than most people. So yes, thanks, I will be happy to play a little more this week! I”ll be postin’.
Love your work… both the mobiles and the woodworking. Very nice!
Thank You. I am very happy to have found your wonderful work. Looking forward to seeing more.
